Casting On

Disclaimer: This posting is likely to bore the non-knitter.

I was excited to be able to cast on a new project the other day. To me casting on is like springtime. There's newness and excitement mixed with a bit of anticipation.

I wondered, "How do other knitters feel when they cast-on?"

So I decided to send out this inquiry in humble hopes of getting a reply. If you are so inclined, please finish the sentence below.

Casting on is like...

Until next time...

Well, I don't think I get so excited casting on. I get more excited when I am casting off♥

Casting on is like setting choreography on passionate dancers eagerly awaiting to express a message through movement. The energy that fills the room is radiating! From a dancer.

I'm LOVING the comments.

Cici you made me laugh.

Dancer I loved your application. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks Thella for that perspective. I've never thought of it that way.

BTW - Can you all tell that I've just learned how to respond to my comments? I've been trying all year before someone told me that I had to adjust something in my settings. Now if I could only figure out how to respond to them individually. ;-)

casting on is kinda' like starting a new relationship. you think you know what might happen. but know for sure that you do not know what will happen. either way, it's exciting!

To Flyngmunkey:

I'm thinking like Christmas or your Birthday! You're so excited to get started(unwrapping)and when your finished, you have a treasure (gift from a friend)! Does that make sense?
And you know, sometimes the package (yarn) is just as fun as the end result... think cashmere :) who cares if you ever bind off?
