I Did It!!!

You know that thing that you've always wanted to do, said you were born to do, think about doing but never actually get around to? Yes, that thing. Well, I've done it. I'm tired of thinking about it and I'm tired of talking about it. Today is the day that I've taken my writing into the 21st century by creating this blog. I'm ready for the adventure! Thanks for coming along with me.

I'm a native Washingtonian and yesterday we experienced an historic snowstorm. Oh - the beauty and stillness that it created. I love the way that God quiets our lives in such majestic ways. And there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. But if we aren't careful, we'll miss it. We'll miss the experience. We'll lose it among complaints of being cold, or having to shovel. What about the movie that we should have rented or the bread we should have bought? By the way, why is it that snow storms create such a demand for bread and milk?

Anyway, all I want to say is this - don't miss the moment. Take time today and look out your window. Look up at the sky. Inhale deeply. Bring to mind that "thing" that you've always wanted to do. And do it!

Until next time...

I totally agree. Today I took time to bake some blueberry muffins and then went outside and met and talked to one of my neighbors in between shoveling. Like you said, God has a way to get us to be still and enjoy His still and quiet voice. Shaunia

Welcome to the blogging world. I have a blog, too. The snow is beautiful. I love it. I hope I can stay home from school tomorrow to enjoy it even more. Was outside this morning with a lot of neighbors shoveling our snow and cleaning it from the cars so the snowplow could push it to the designated spot. Oh yes, and I did get a container of "clean" snow so I can make snow cream.

Well said Cheryl. Tomorrow is not promised and life is too short for procrastination. For the last couple of years I have been in the habit of enjoying each day therefore these "forced" days of rest were just an addition to my already relaxed life. I am looking forward to your next post.

This is so exciting and you have such a way with words. Any chance you can help me write my first book?

Welcome to the blog world.I sure will be around to get to know you .
About milk and bread: I always make sure we can stay at home and have everything IF nessesary . Feels good to know I don`t have to get out to get something, just stay in and take care of my kids and enjoy the stillness in weather.
Our snow in Dk is gone again- now we have very cold weather and expecting snow again this weekend.
Happy new (blog)year
